I always take full responsibility for my actions

One version of this is really just guilt wearing a work uniform. It goes over the same twenty minutes all evening and produces nothing except a worse next morning.

Watch a decent kitchen when something has gone wrong. The freezer was left open overnight and the stock is ruined. The search isn't for a person to blame. Somebody is already on the phone reordering, and the door gets a new catch on Thursday.

Responsibility points forward and is oddly light to carry. Blame points backwards and weighs a great deal. They use much the same vocabulary, which is how they get mistaken for each other, and the difference shows up in whether anything is different by Friday.
