Affirmation to Negativity I am confident with who I am today and confident in what the future will be.

These are two different things wearing the same coat. Confidence about today is a claim about knowing your own equipment — what you're good at, what you do under pressure, which people to call. That much is verifiable.

Confidence about the future can't be, because the future declines to provide references. What it means in practice is a tolerance for not knowing. A sailor is never confident about the weather, only about the boat and about having handled bad weather before. The second kind is built entirely out of surviving the first three or four times you had no idea what was coming.
