Whole got quietly redefined somewhere along the way to mean unmarked, as though healing were a matter of returning to factory condition. Nothing that heals does that. A repaired stretch of road always shows the seam — slightly different colour, a line you can see from a moving car — and it carries the same lorries as the rest of it.
You are permitted to be whole and visibly mended at the same time. Wholeness is a question of whether the thing holds weight, not of whether anyone can tell where it broke.
