Job descriptions are wish lists, written by a committee that has never met the perfect candidate and does not expect to.
People read them as checklists and disqualify themselves somewhere around line six. Meanwhile a person matching sixty per cent applies, gets it, and learns the remainder by the second quarter — which is what everyone does anyway, including the person who wrote the list.
There is also the inventory problem. Most people stop counting what they can do the moment it becomes easy.
Write down the things you had forgotten were skills. The list runs longer than the fear allows for.
