In engineering, resilience isn't hardness. It's the capacity to take a load and return to shape afterwards — and the returning is not an optional extra, it's half the definition. A spring that never gets to spring back is a bent piece of metal.
Which puts rest in a different category from reward. It isn't what arrives once you've earned it. It's the second half of the same mechanism that got you through this morning. Skipping it doesn't make anyone more resilient. It just spends the property down.
