A bruise turning yellow is one of the few times you get to watch repair happen from the outside.

Purple, then green, then that unlovely yellow at the edges — visible proof of a cleanup crew working through a mess on a schedule nobody consulted you about. Every internal repair looks like that too. You just do not get the colours.

*Process* is the honest word. Not an event, not a result. Something ongoing right now, underway while you read this, in places you will never see and cannot hurry.
