Very few people have ever priced the life they say they want. It stays a mood — comfortable, unworried, able to say yes to things — rather than a figure.
Add it up on paper sometime. Rent, food, the car, whatever you would actually do on a Saturday, a flight home twice a year.
The total is nearly always lower than the vague feeling suggested. Sometimes it sits uncomfortably close to what already comes in.
Whatever it turns out to be, having a number is different from not having one. A mood cannot be aimed at.
