A course prospectus sits in a drawer for two years because the entry requirements are assumed to be out of reach.

Nobody checks. When somebody finally does, the requirements turn out to be two years of relevant experience and a short written statement, both of which were in place the whole time.

Deserving is rarely tested by anyone except you. Most gates are unstaffed. The refusal happens at the drawer.

Whatever you have quietly filed as being for other people, go and read the actual criteria. Not to be encouraged — to find out. The answer is frequently duller and more available than the fear.
