I feel empowered in my choice to let go!

Two people leave the same job on the same Friday. One was made redundant and one resigned. The work they do next may well be identical, and the difference in how they walk out of the building is enormous, because one of them chose it.

That is most of what's on offer here. Rarely the outcome — often the authorship. Something is ending either way, and deciding to be the one who ends it changes what you will be able to say about it later, and what you will be able to do next.
