I let go of my fear.

A rescue dog stops flinching at a raised hand eventually. Not on any particular day — nobody in the house can say when it stopped, only that at some point somebody reached up for a shelf and the dog didn't move.

Fear tends to leave on that timetable rather than by decision. It goes instance by instance, worn down by the thing being survived a number of times, and it goes without announcing itself.

So the absence of a dramatic moment is not evidence that nothing is happening. Whatever you are braced against now will very likely leave the same way, and you will be equally unable to name the week it went.
