The border between mind and body was never a clean one. Hunger arrives disguised as irritation with a colleague. Dread shows up as a stomach. A long sadness settles into the lower back and stays there, and no scan explains it.
This isn't a body speaking in code, and it isn't a message waiting to be decoded. The two systems were never separate enough to need a translator between them; they are one thing that we happen to describe with two vocabularies.
Which means being kinder to one is rarely wasted on the other.
