There's a person in most families who will cook for twelve and cannot be driven to the airport. Giving runs easily in them. The other direction is bolted shut.
Enjoying both is a strange achievement. To be given something is to be seen needing it, and being seen needing anything takes a kind of nerve that giving never asks for.
The people who manage it aren't more loved than anyone else. They just don't hold the door half-closed while insisting there's no traffic.
Let someone carry a bag for you this week and don't apologise for the weight of it.
