Somebody asks whether you are all right and you realise you have been sighing every couple of minutes for an hour without noticing once.
We broadcast constantly and hear almost none of it. Posture, pace, the volume of a laugh, whether you sit down heavily or not — all of it is legible to a room before a word has been said.
This cuts pleasantly the other way too. A walk before work shows up in your face by ten. Whatever you did for yourself this morning is already being read by people who have no idea they are reading it.
