Listen for the sentence you use about yourself just before something difficult. Most people have one, worn smooth from use. I'm no good in groups. I've never been able to do this.
Those sentences were drafted a long time ago, often by a single embarrassing afternoon, and they've been quoted ever since as though they were findings.
You're allowed to revise the document. Not with flattery — with newer evidence, which you have plenty of and almost never consult. Picture the version of you that handled the last hard thing. That person exists and has receipts. Bring them instead.
