Whatever the soul is, it responds to interest. Not rest — interest. Being genuinely curious about something is what puts the colour back.

There is a box in most people's closets: a half-finished model, a guitar with five strings, a language book with the first forty pages worn and the rest untouched. It stopped because life got loud, not because the interest died.

An hour with something that has no purpose beyond your own attention does more than an early night. Both are worth having. Only one of them makes you want tomorrow.
