There is something positive even in bad happenings. I thank the universe for helping me see it.

After a flood, people mostly do not talk about the water. They talk about the neighbor who showed up with a pump at six in the morning, someone they had not spoken to in nine years.

The good thing found inside a bad thing rarely balances the ledger, and it is not supposed to. It just sits alongside, being true at the same time.

Seeing it takes a certain stubbornness. You have to keep your eyes open during the part where you would rather close them. That is not optimism exactly. It is closer to refusing to look away from the whole picture.
