Plans are mostly written afterward. The job that fell through becomes, in the retelling, the thing that freed you for what came next — and by then it is genuinely true, because you built the next thing out of the wreckage.
That is meaning-making, a real human capacity rather than a delusion. But it only runs backwards. In the middle of a bad month, insisting it is all part of a plan is a way of not feeling it.
Feel it first. Look for the coherence later, when there is something to look at. Both are allowed.
