Welcoming is not summoning. You cannot make a good day arrive by wanting one hard enough, and anyone who has tried to force a mood knows how fast that becomes a second problem sitting on top of the first.
What welcoming means is leaving the door on the latch. An extra chair out, the evening not entirely booked, a small willingness to be interrupted by something good. It is a low-effort posture, and it costs nothing on the days when nothing comes.
