Affirmation to Negativity I acknowledge my thoughts and let them go.

I acknowledge my thoughts and let them go.

Acknowledging is not the same as agreeing, though the two get confused constantly.

Someone knocks at the door with a clipboard and a very confident opening. You can hear the whole pitch out. You can even find parts of it reasonable. None of that obliges you to sign anything.

Thoughts arrive on similar terms. They turn up uninvited, often at a bad hour, often sounding entirely plausible, and leaving one unanswered is not the same as conceding it was right.

Most of the exhaustion comes from the argument rather than the visit. You are allowed to hear a thing out and close the door.
