I always have enough money.

Enough moves. Ask almost anyone, at almost any income, what would be enough, and the answer lands somewhere near double what they currently have — and it does the same thing again once they get there.

That is not a flaw in people. It is how comparison works. The next rung is always in sharper focus than the one underfoot.

Which makes enough something to be decided rather than reached. Not a lie told to a tight month, and not a reason to stop wanting more. Just a figure you set on purpose, before a moving target sets it for you.
