I always have more than enough money.

Someone on twenty thousand will tell you thirty would be enough. Ask the person on thirty and they'll say fifty.

This isn't greed. Enough gets defined by the next unmet obligation, and there is always another one waiting behind the current one.

Which makes enough a relationship rather than a total. Some people arrive at it on modest money because they know precisely what it's for. Others don't arrive, and the shortfall is entirely real to them whatever the balance says.

Both of those are true at the same time, and the second is not a failure of character.
