Most of it isn't chosen. You learned which colleague to route a request through, how long the oven actually takes, what your own tiredness feels like an hour before it lands. None of that came from a course.

The deliberate kind takes all the credit and is a small fraction of the total. The rest accumulates quietly as habits, shortcuts and avoided mistakes, invisible until somebody new arrives and does everything the long way round. None of it is ambitious. It is just something you couldn't stop doing if you tried.
