Affirmation to Negativity I am at peace in my body, and I feel great in my skin.

I am at peace in my body, and I feel great in my skin.

There are two different relationships available with the same body, and they mostly don't meet. One is conducted in mirrors and photographs, from the outside, through somebody else's imagined eyes. The other is what your shoulders feel like after a swim.

The second is the older and more truthful account, and it's the one that gets consulted least. Nobody stands in front of a mirror to check how warm their hands are.

Peace tends to live over on that side. Not in a better appraisal, but in the ordinary sensory business of being somewhere — the water, sun on the back of your neck, the bed at the end of a long day.
