Affirmation to Work I am courageous and stand up for myself.

I am courageous and stand up for myself.

It almost never looks like the version in films. Mostly it is four words said evenly in a meeting — that isn't what I said — and then not filling the silence afterwards.

The silence is the hard part. Most people bury the correction under an apology within about two seconds, which undoes it.

There is an honest cost side here, too, because not every workplace is safe to be plain in, and picking your moment is not cowardice. Courage includes knowing which room and which day, and that judgement is a skill of its own.
