Radiant is a word other people use about you. You almost never feel it from the inside, where you are ordinary and slightly tired and thinking about the laundry.

Someone at work once told a colleague she seemed lighter lately. The colleague had no idea what she meant. She had simply started sleeping properly and had finally ended a conversation she'd been dreading for months.

Whatever radiance is, it behaves like a side effect. It follows things being set right underneath. Tend the underneath part; the visible part looks after itself.
