In most households one person does the looking. They know the renewal dates, which direct debit is wrong, what the balance will be on the 3rd. Everyone else lives inside the same finances without ever seeing them.

Being that person is a job, and a tiring one, and it goes unrecognised because it produces nothing anybody can point at. Growth needs somebody minding it. If that's you, it's worth saying out loud once — to yourself, or to the people you've been doing it for.
