Whatever oneness means at the scale of the universe, it shows up at that scale first - in whether the small thing in the bath counts as a problem or a life. Nobody arrives at a sense of connection by argument. It arrives through an accumulation of tiny decisions about creatures that cannot thank you, until it stops occurring to you to do it the other way.
