Design mostly happens before anyone arrives.
By the time you are walking through a building, every real decision has already been made — where the door is, which way the light falls, whether the stairs invite you up or hide behind a corner.
Days work the same way. The version of you at nine in the evening is not so much choosing as walking through a building somebody put up that morning.
Which is where the leverage sits. What is in the fridge. What time the last message goes out. Which room the charger lives in.
