Most adults were taught the periodic table and not one word about how money actually moves. People pick up the vocabulary at thirty-four, from a friend, at a kitchen table, and feel ashamed of not having known it at twenty.

There is nothing innate about any of it. Compound interest, notice periods, what a fixed rate means — these are facts rather than talents, and facts can be acquired on a wet afternoon.

Mastery over money is mostly literacy that turned up late. Late is normal. Almost everybody's turned up late.
