Affirmation to Self-Help I deserve to be paid well for my skills.

I deserve to be paid well for my skills.

The things you're paid least for are often the things you find easiest, because ease reads internally as worthlessness.

Anyone who can calm an angry customer, or make a spreadsheet behave, tends to assume everybody can.

Pay is negotiated, not awarded. That is uncomfortable if you were raised to believe good work announces itself, and it explains a great deal of quiet resentment in otherwise capable people.

Which doesn't make asking easy, or always successful. It does make the first move clear. Write down what you actually do all week, including the parts nobody assigned you, and notice how long that list runs.
