Ease is the last thing to arrive, never the first.
Hill starts, at seventeen, take everything you have — clutch, handbrake, mirror, the queue behind you. At thirty-five you do them mid-conversation without registering that you did.
Nobody gets the second version without a long stretch of the first. Releasing things follows the same curve: the early attempts are graceless and mostly involve picking the thing back up an hour later.
Trusting the process is easier done backwards. Look at what you have already stopped carrying and can no longer remember the weight of. That arrived by exactly this route.
