Tomorrow is mostly built tonight, by somebody with more energy than the person who will have to live it. That asymmetry is the resource.

The most useful thing tonight's version can do takes ninety seconds: write down the one task that has to happen, in enough detail that no thinking is needed to begin. Morning-you is not stupid, but morning-you is negotiating with a duvet and will accept any excuse that involves ambiguity. Remove the ambiguity and half the argument never starts.
