Fear, doubt and guilt keep getting grouped together, though they face in three different directions. Fear runs ahead into something that has not happened yet. Doubt stands in the present, tugging your sleeve just before you move. Guilt looks backwards at a thing already finished and unfixable from here.
Which is why letting go is never one motion. The fear wants evidence about the future, which nobody has. The doubt wants a decision. The guilt wants an apology, or a repair, or simply permission to stop.
Taken one at a time they get smaller. Taken as a single mass they stay a mass.
