I love that my marriage is becoming deeper, stronger, and more loving every day.

Depth doesn't arrive on a schedule, and it is not always pleasant while it is happening. Plenty of couples look back at the year they discussed almost nothing except the mortgage and realise, later, that something was being poured underneath.

Growth in a marriage is mostly visible in reverse. The week itself just feels like a week.

What deepens it tends to be unremarkable at the time: a hard conversation neither of you walked out of, a stretch of illness, a decision made together that neither of you wanted to make.
