Affirmation to Self-Help I love to be around positive people.

I love to be around positive people.

The useful sort isn't the relentlessly cheerful sort. Relentless cheer is tiring to be near when something has genuinely gone wrong, because it asks you to manage your bad news so it doesn't spoil the mood.

The people worth being around have a different quality. Difficulty registers as workable. Bad news lands, gets taken seriously, and then somebody says right, what do we do.

Notice who leaves you with more energy than you arrived with, and who reliably does the reverse. It's measurable inside twenty minutes, and most people already know the answer and have been ignoring it out of politeness.
