What actually reads as wealth, across a room, is nearly always calm. Not the watch. The person who is unhurried, who orders without scanning the right-hand column, who can be interrupted without irritation because nothing is balanced on this particular afternoon going well.

Display is a different signal entirely, and anybody who has ever been broke can read the difference instantly — between a person who is comfortable and a person performing comfort.
