Responsibility gets confused with fault, and they are not the same account. A great deal of what shaped you was handed over without consultation. The family, the decade, the thing that happened when you were eleven. None of that was your doing.
It is still yours to carry, which sounds harsh until you notice it is also the only version where you get a say. Fault points backwards, often at people who are no longer reachable. Responsibility points at the next hour.
The question that actually moves anything is not how you came to be standing here. It is what happens between now and Thursday, which is a much smaller question, and yours.
