The pedestrian crossings outside schools mostly exist because somebody's worst year turned into eighteen months of letters to a council.
Bad feeling has genuine force in it. Anger in particular is a fuel with an unusually high energy content, and it does not care what it is used for. Left alone it burns in a closed room. Pointed at something, it moves furniture.
None of that means the feeling has to be enjoyed or approved of first. Transformation isn't purification. It is closer to a redirect — the same heat, sent somewhere it can do work instead of damage.
