Cortisol runs highest in the first half hour after waking, which is why dread so often gets into the room before you are properly in it yourself. It isn't a verdict on your life. It's chemistry with poor timing.
Some of it does lift, and not always by itself. Often it takes the ordinary business of standing up, of moving about, of being spoken to by somebody who wants nothing much.
If a morning doesn't loosen on its own, that isn't a failure of will and it isn't yours alone to carry. The first hour is a hinge, and hinges respond to being helped.
