The *even though* is carrying that sentence, and it should. It admits the bad day rather than papering over it.
Most affection worth having works this way. Think of the friend who visits when you are ill and does not need you to be entertaining — who sits there while you are grey and monosyllabic and shows no sign of revising their opinion of you.
Being that friend to yourself is unglamorous work. It looks like not adding a second layer of judgment on top of feeling awful. That is the whole practice on the days it is needed.
