Everyday I make a big difference by doing my best at every aspect of life.

A teacher said something offhand in 1994 and someone in that room still repeats it to their own children. The teacher has no idea. That is the ordinary shape of making a difference: invisible at the source, obvious downstream, almost never reported back.

Which means you cannot measure your own effect, and the days you felt least useful may not be the days that mattered least.

Doing your best is the only portion of this available to you. The size of the difference gets decided somewhere else entirely, by people you may never hear from.
