Control of the internal kind works less like a switch and more like stewardship. A gardener does not command the weather or order a seed to germinate, and would still be insulted if you said the garden was not theirs.
What is genuinely yours: what you attend to, what you decide, what you say to yourself about what happened, who you tell.
Those are not small. Between them they determine most of how a difficult week actually goes, which is more influence than it feels like from inside one.
The rest arrives on its own schedule. Your authority begins the moment after it does.
