Affirmation to Negativity I abandon old habits and choose new, positive ones.

I abandon old habits and choose new, positive ones.

Habits live in rooms more than in people. The biscuit tin sits on the second shelf, at eye level, next to the mugs, which is to say it sits on a route you already walk at four in the afternoon. Move the tin and half the habit goes with it.

Willpower takes all the credit here and does very little of the work. What changes behaviour is friction. How many seconds and small decisions stand between you and the thing.

New habits want the same treatment in reverse. Put the running shoes where you trip over them. Make the better option the lazy one.
