Most of what you'll be glad about in ten years isn't on any current plan. The skills that end up mattering tend to get picked up sideways — from a project that failed, a job taken for the money, a person you happened to sit near.
Planning still helps. It gets you into rooms. It just isn't a reliable predictor of what you'll carry out of them.
Hold the target and stay alert to the accidents. The best returns usually arrive in a category you weren't tracking.
