Affirmation to Kindness I am aware of the needs of others and freely give all that I can.

Some people never ask. Not from pride exactly, more from a long-standing arrangement with themselves about being the one who copes.

They are the hardest to help and the easiest to overlook, because nothing in their behaviour raises a flag. The signal is smaller: cancelled plans, a shorter reply than usual, a joke with an edge on it.

Giving all you can is a generous promise, and most of it goes unspent simply because you did not notice where it was wanted.

Noticing is the part that takes practice. The giving, once you have seen it, tends to look after itself.
