Some people are never without a spare umbrella, a plaster, a phone charger. It looks like organisation. It is usually something else — they went through their morning already thinking about somebody.

Feeling full of warmth and doing anything with it are not automatically connected, and the second is what makes the first visible. To other people, and honestly to yourself as well.

It needn't be much. A message at the right hour. Standing up when someone comes into the room. Warmth that gets spent is the only kind anybody else can feel.
