Affirmation to Gratitude I am grateful that I see the beauty and goodness in everything around me.

I am grateful that I see the beauty and goodness in everything around me.

Everything is a lot to claim. Some things around you are genuinely ugly — an argument made in bad faith, a cruelty done casually — and insisting on their hidden beauty is mostly a way of not looking.

A more defensible version: you can find the goodness that's there without inventing goodness that isn't. Scaffolding on an ugly building means somebody is fixing it. The bad-tempered colleague is often frightened about something.

That's not seeing beauty everywhere. It's refusing to stop looking early.

Take something you've written off as simply unpleasant and spend one minute on what might really be going on inside it.
