Thanking yourself for your own agency feels odd, which is probably why it's worth sitting with. Power is easiest to notice when it's absent.
And it's real but partial. You don't choose your circumstances, your health, or half of what happens next week. You choose responses, and responses compound — the job you left, the number you stopped answering, the habit you kept for a year.
A life you love gets built out of that narrow band of choice, repeated. Nobody is issued more raw material than that.
