I deserve kindness, from myself too

If a friend turned up on crutches you wouldn't ask why they were walking so slowly. You'd carry things. You'd move the meeting. You wouldn't make them explain the ankle every time it came up.

The same injury, invisible, gets a completely different management style when it belongs to you — deadlines unchanged, no allowances made, and a running commentary about how long this is taking. Worth noticing how fast you'd overrule that treatment if it were being applied to anybody else in your life.
