Humanity does not turn up anywhere to be met. What turns up is your sister, a courier, four colleagues, and somebody at the pharmacy counter taking longer than you would like. That is the whole delivery mechanism.

Grand feeling towards the species is easy and costs nothing. It is the pharmacy queue that charges. People who love humanity in general and find its actual members exhausting are a recognised type, and the affection they describe never reaches anybody. Today's version of humanity is roughly nine people, most of them inconvenient.
